See the Patient Partner Program (P3) at Ozzawa

Adam from Advanced Design Online will be demonstrating the Patient Partner Program (P3) web application at the 13th Ottawa (Ozzawa) International Conference on Clinical Competence at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on March 6th and March 7th. Any attendees who wish a demonstration should call Adam on 0419 236 439 to schedule a time with him.

The revolutionary Patient Partner Program was created by the Launceston Clinical School at the University of Tasmania to help give their students more experience through consultations with patients by not only giving them access to hospital patients, but also to volunteers in the community.

This logical concept requires strict and streamlined management... The software that Adam and Aaron have developed manages all aspects of the PPP from tracking patients, doctors, students and consultation group info, to allowing the doctors to assess the students on their consultations, to providing graphs and various reports!

new site

Although very basic - the site has been revamped to have more detailed portfolio pages and a minor colour scheme change.

new server live

We've moved all the Ruby on Rails sites over to the newest Advanced Design Online server... and things are flying!

Page loads are much faster especially for dynamic content, and this new server has plenty of room to grow. It's up and up here with Ruby on Rails!

nursing history launched

Advanced Design Online originally made the Contradictory Stories site - specifically to sell Sheryl Brennan's first book. After she published her second book, she came to us to to make a combined ecommerce site to sell both books on it. With a revamped design, smooth AJAX CMS, PayPal / credit card checkout... it's all up in under 2 weeks. It's also super-easy to add new books into the system when this fabulous author writes her next detailed account of nursing history in Australia.

extra server !!!

After what has simply been very welcome accelerated growth in Ruby on Rails development and hosting at Advanced Design Online, we have been running out of places to put all these sites! So we've just acquired another dedicated server - a second Dell PowerEdge 1950. This time with 2 x 3.0GHz Xeon Dual Core, 4Gb RAM, 2x146Gb SAS 10krpm RAID!!! That is one kick ass dedicated Rails webserver! That beast will be serving up your Ruby on Rails sites like lightning.

So that's currently 4 servers at Advanced Design Online - 1 in the US and 1 in Sydney for PHP and static sites, and 2 in Canberra for Ruby on Rails and some PHP. We can bring you the best performance from wherever you need.

agfest goes live

We were recently contracted to implement a Content Management System into the existing Agfest design. We were lucky enough to find the design worked in well with a CMS due to it's flexible navigation system and friendly fonts. We've then simply re-written the layout to be XHTML/CSS compliant and implemented that layout with our existing CMS to produce user-editable content with search engine friendly URLs, CSS based drop downs, custom flash slideshows, file & image management, user management... all in record time!

Check out the site at www.agfest.com.au!

forestry tasmania going strong

After launching this site, the size of it really sunk in. It gets more hits than any other site we've ever done. Thanks to the page caching in the Ruby on Rails CMS we developed the server barely breaks a sweat still, as the bulk of the pages are pre-stored and served up on demand instead of your typical render-on-the-fly dynamic system.

This site also really demonstrates how well we manage the source control and deployment, as there are constant updates as the shops are getting ready for launch, and the live and development sites are at different stages, all managed by our good practices and talented staff.

forestry tasmania launch

We have successfully launched the new Forestry Tasmania site! It's huge! With 500+ pages/news articles, a full multi-level CMS developed by us all going very nicely!

senator helen polley redesign

We got a new design from Direct Design for SenatorHelenPolley.com.au. Consisting of a fresh new look ready for the election with updated styles, images and minor restructuring, we implemented these changes within 4 hrs of receiving the requirements. That's the kind of response time you want and we provide.

we weren't ready to rumble :(

Rails Rumble Due to how hectic September has been, we (Adam from Advanced Design Online, and James from Jaffa) were extremely disappointed to not be able to participate in the 48hr Rails Rumble 2007 event :(

Looks like we'll just have to take the prize next year!
